It's Climb Time....

Sunday, March 15, 2009

In every post I usually mention the weather and this is no exception. The weather was beautiful! I got out on the bike around 1:30 pm. I headed from home to Tecumseh where my final destination was Blue Heron (approx. 44 kms). The wind was steadily at my face and side. I did not need as many layers today, in fact I felt a little bare! Anyways back to the ride, I had decided that I should try and get some type of hill repeats in and Blue Heron was the plan. Blue Heron is a man made hill. It has a couple of gradual winding gravel paths to the top. Which is perfect because I could climb and avoid mud! When the ground dries up, there are several other dirt climbs that are steeper and challenging, but today we stayed on the gravel. Jay drove to Tecumseh and met me at the hill with his bike. He always manages to push me. Between the two of us we try to figure out what works and what doesn't for my riding. Lots of trial and error. Better now then during the season, however it's always a learning process. After a dozen climbs, we did a cool down and put the bikes on the rack and headed for home. Life is good!

Cheers,

Sue
