Sun'ny'day Ride

The weather was perfect for a Sunday morning ride. I met up with a group of about 20-25 at 11:00 am, at a local coffee shop, The Second Cup, in Tecumseh. There was a mix of CX bikes and mtb's. I was on my hardtail mtb. The ride was mostly on back roads, some snow covered, some wet, taking us from Tecumseh to Belle River and back. The group would separate into 2, and then be brought back together at various stops. The ride was a steady pace with a few bursts to test the legs. It was my first ride with the group and I was the only women out there. What's up with that, ladies? Anyhow, the ride went on for about 45 km's and ended back at The Second Cup with a few riders taking in a coffee. What I learned today: a rear fender might be a good idea?! I should have clued in when the majority of the riders were set up with one! With the snow melting and a lot of puddles on the roads, my pants (2 layers) soaked up the water, leading to .... a wet 'bottom'. No biggie, the price you pay if you want to ride! It was a lot of fun, and I look forward to next time.
