Two Girls' Two Wheel Stories.................

This post is about a week late but better late than never!!!!
With no racing on the Canadian long weekend (which was last weekend), and the weather forecast looking perfect Kim and I decided on a last minute bike weekend. Us 'two girls', headed up to Hardwood Hills, in Barrie to ride the Canada Cup course.
The weather on the way up was rainy, we could only hope for clearer skies as we got closer to our destination. No rain in Barrie!!
Our home for the weekend was a Kabin at the Barrie KOA. Upon arrival Sat. early afternoon, we unpacked then went to check out the course at Hardwood. It had all the markings of a true cross country race course. The trails were sooooo dry. It was alot of fun just riding, I even stopped to take some pictures.
That night was my night to cook....pesto/alfredo pasta with chicken, red peppers and mushrooms. Mmmm!
We even got a bonfire going on our first try!!
We got our 'beauty' rest Sat. night and slept in until 9:00 am Sunday!! A late breakfast lead into a late morning ride back at Hardwood. The sun was shining, it was great riding weather. With it being the long weekend, there were many riders at Hardwood. So cool to see young kids out on the trails.
Sunday night tested Kim's cooking skills, as it was her turn to prepare supper. I was impressed. Her menu consisted of steak, 1/2 sweet potato and 1/2 baked potato combined with butter and garlic and fried zucchini. It was all done to perfection. Not sure who she has been trying to kid, but the cats out of the bag, she can really cook! (or at least bbq)
Once again we got a fire going on the first attempt that night and enjoyed some delicious s'mores and Bell's beer!! We had clear skies, lots of stars (the small dipper still not found). Perfect camping weather!
Monday we wrapped things up with a morning ride and a morning wipeout! I did the tuck and roll as I hit a root, just bruised up the shoulder a bit but no biggie.
What a fun weekend of riding, great weather and great company. Two girls just hangin' out telling/making their own two wheel stories!

Cheers,

Sue
