Sting, stang, stung............

Climbing intervals today!! Fun, fun, fun!! The issue with climbing in southern Ontario is that there is no place to go except (Malden Park, Windsor), an old landfill that was converted to a city park many years ago! The climbing was actually supposed to be yesterday but when I was warming up I got stung by a yellow jacket (at least that's what I think it was, cuz' even after tearing my jersey off I didn't get to see the little bugger!! arrgh). It got me 4 times before I was able to get the jersey off. No problem, the stinging sensation seemed to go away and I got through my first climbing loop (approx. 10 min.). I got about 1/4 of the way through lap #2 and pain started in the back of my neck and within a couple of minutes it traveled up the back of my head, ears and up to my temples. I thought I could finish the lap but it got too bad and I started to feel nauseous!! I headed back to the parked van where things weren't getting better. I thought my head was going to explode!! (OK exaggerated a tad but you get the picture!) I called Jay and he came from work! I sat in the van for 2 hours before the headache subsided enough for me to drive home. Yellow jacket - 1, Sue - 0...........
Today's climbing went without incident. It always feels good once it's over.
I tell ya' the need for improvement is never ending, I just keep plugging away!!

Cheers,

Sue
