The 2009 Dirt Diva season has officially started! Paiten became a young 'member' (no membership required) last year and joined us again tonight. When we pulled up to the park it seemed to have cooled down a bit and I knew that Paiten did not bring warm enough clothing. So I gave her my jacket and resorted to the arm warmers. (I need to explain that because the picture of her and I would leave people questioning my style!) 12 ladies (a couple younger, Paiten 11 and Paige 11) came out for opening night. The group met at Malden park for 7:00 pm. It was great to see a few new faces. The ride was casual leading through some slippery single track, the paved perimeter of the park road and we also ventured off on the Windsor trail. The temp was sitting around 16 - 17° C (I'm guessing) with a light rain off and on throughout the ride. The giggles were back and so were some notable wipe-outs (all courtesy of not being able to unclip!!) I really don't want to single anyone out but heck we got a few good laughs thanks to Michelle (picture above, on the ground, she still has left foot clipped in) and Donna (out of sight of my camera) but non the less took 2 for the group! Thanks to Miss Dirt Diva President Kim for not leading us astray. It's fun to be back on the trails with the group and I look forward to another awesome year.
