Where has time gone? We just finished up with the long Easter weekend and the countdown is on for O-Cup #1. I've been putting time on the bike whenever my chaotic schedule allows! At the start of every race year I always question how race shape ready I really am? I can feel the nerves already starting and trips to the bathroom will soon be inevitable. It's all part of the 'game'. I had the chance to hit some trails at Pontiac on Sat. April 11. The trails were in good shape. Thanks Kim for the invite! It was pretty windy out but once in the bush the temp was nice. The odd patch of snow still lingering to the side of the trail at times. This is spring is it not? Toward the beginning of the first lap we came up on a 4 wheeler and it was Robert Linden (Tailwind Promoter) out doing trail maintenance. We stopped for a brief hello and to thank him for the upkeep of the trails and then carried on with the ride. There were a lot of people out hiking and others also out there doing trail maintenance. It is because of these volunteers that the trail systems in Michigan are always so nicely kept. Hats off, it is much appreciated. Anyways, the first trail ride went well. We had fun just putting in 2 laps before calling it a day. Ready or not the race is on!
Cheers,
Sue
