My Teammate - Hit-and-Run..........

(Jason, Zach and Kathy)
Please keep my teammate Jason Lummis in your thoughts. He was involved in a hit-and-run last night. Angry is an understatement!! Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery.

The following is an article from Heritage Newspapers:
By Daniel Lai, Heritage Newspapers

Friends and teammates of Jason Lummis, a professional mountain biker from Pickney, are hoping someone in the community will come forward with information leading to the arrest of the driver of a vehicle that struck Lummis while he was riding near Dexter on Wednesday.

Lummis, who is a member of the Bell's Brewery-Quiring Cycles Professional Mountain Bike Team, was commuting by bike to his Pinckney home from his job at Great Lakes Cycling and Fitness in Ann Arbor when he was struck by the vehicle and left on the side of the road.

The accident happened on Dexter-Pinckney Road near the intersection of Wylie Road in Dexter Township around 9 p.m. There is currently no information on the vehicle, which fled the scene.

Lummis was found by two motorcyclists in a ditch with massive blood loss, teammate Jason Jones said.

Lummis was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor with internal injuries and a broken back. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

Anyone with information on the accident or the vehicle that struck Lummis can contact the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s tip line at 1-734-973-7711.
