GREAT!!!

Seems like it's been a long time since my last race! One weekend off seems to throw me off! Anyhow, the family and I travelled to Michigan for a Michigan USAC XC race. Bloomer is a 'great' course. It's tight and twisty, up and down and such a fun place to ride. The venue is very family and spectator friendly. There are many parts of the course where the racers can be seen coming through. We arrived around 8:30 a.m., earlier than we had expected, and the sky was overcast with a chill in the air. I registered and then did my pre-race routine with the race starting at 10:00 a.m.. Come race time the temps were warmer and the skies clearing. At 'go' I took the hole shot and never looked back. I kept a steady pace and brought home the victory! After a quick cool down my 2 youngest lined up for the kids race, and Jay took the 2 oldest out for a ride on the race course. The kids race was 'great' with all kids getting medals in the end. My youngest did a bit of trash talking (all in fun) before the race started and in the end he was 'high fiving' his new found 'buddies' and telling them 'good race'. There was only one pile up at the start which detoured the group but no one was injured and my kids were pumped. It was a 'great' day, a 'great' ride. Thanks to Tailwind for putting on another 'great' event.

Until next time....

Cheers,

Sue
